Monarch Airlines introduces DCC service using GCX technology

Monarch Airlines, one of the UK’s largest low-cost carriers, has gone live with the introduction of a Dynamic Currency Conversion service on its www.flymonarch.com web site, allowing Monarch to offer its customers the option to pay in their local card currency. Monarch is based in Luton and carries over 5 million passengers annually to and from the UK, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, the Canary Islands and other Mediterranean destinations.

GCX accredited as PCI compliant by Visa and MasterCard

In June 2006, GCX were accredited by Visa and MasterCard as being a compliant “Internet Payment Processing, Currency Conversion Provider”. The basis of this accreditation was the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which has been endorsed by all the major card schemes, namely Visa, MasterCard, JCB, Diners, American Express, and Discover.
